So you’re spending spring break in Tahoe? Whether you’re coming up with friends during a college spring break or taking the kiddos up to the lake for a family getaway, you’ll be sure to have a great time in Tahoe this spring. Below are a few events and activity ideas for spring break 2019.
Go Sledding
We don’t care if you’re young or old. Once you hop on a sled, the kid at heart will undeniably come out. The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge is located just one mile from The Tahoe Regional Park, which offers a great sledding hill and saucer rentals. Learn more.
Go Skiing or Riding
Tahoe is the spring skiing capital, and it’s easy to see why. Snow, sunshine, and good company–it doesn’t get much better than that! Cruise down the slopes in a t-shirt, enjoying the warm temps and bright sunshine. Check out a few ski resorts located within an hours’ drive of The Franciscan here.
Experience the Nightlife
North Tahoe is known for its slower pace of life, with smaller bars and restaurants. However, the nightlife is alive and well here. Head to Gar Woods just one mile from The Franciscan for a Wet Woody and live music, or make your way to Kings Beach, where a variety of lakefront bars and restaurants make bar-hopping easy and convenient.
Take in Tahoe Views
Spring in Tahoe is breathtaking-the water is calm, the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular, and as the snow melts the lake level rises and plants and trees around the lake come into bloom. The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge offers a private beach and pier for the exclusive use of its guests, perfect for drinking in those gorgeous Tahoe views.
Snowfest
From February 28-March 10, the Tahoe Snowfest takes over North Tahoe. Events range from the ever-popular Polar Bear Plunge at Gar Woods to parades through the towns and a snow sculpture contest. Check out the event schedule here.
Alpenglow Mountain Festival
Always wanted to get out into Tahoe’s backcountry, but not sure where to start? Alpenglow’s annual Mountain Festival features a full week of events from February 16-24 with a focus on human powered sports.
