How does a breakfast burrito sound? Eggs benedict? French toast? Waffles? Whatever your preference, North Lake Tahoe has some amazing cafes and restaurants that know how to do breakfast right. Below are some of the eateries that serve up the best breakfast in North Lake Tahoe.

Make Your Own!
The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge offers fully-equipped kitchens or kitchenettes in all rooms. The Safeway Supermarket is located just one mile away. Fry up some eggs or whip up some oatmeal, and fuel up for a day of Tahoe adventure.
Pep’s Place
Located just across the street from The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge, Pep’s Place offers healthy takes on grab-and-go food. Their limited menu doesn’t lack in heartiness and healthiness though–ranging from delicious breakfast sandwiches to salads and burritos. They serve up Blind Dog Coffee, roasted in Gardnerville, NV, and also have an extensive grab-and-go selection of kombucha, flavored drinks, and beer and wine (for later in the day of course!).
What we recommend: The Acai Bowl is delicious, nutritious, and light enough so that you’ll feel ready for a day on the lake.

Waterman’s Landing
Located just 2 miles from The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge in Carnelian Bay, Waterman’s Landing Cafe is a beachfront cafe that serves up organic, locally-sourced breakfast food in a casual atmosphere. The coffee bar serves up a wide range of specialty coffee and tea drinks using locally-sourced ingredients. In the summer months, the outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying a bite to eat with unparalleled views.
What we recommend: The Waterman Breakfast Burrito can’t be beat. Flavorful and sustainably sourced ingredients wrapped in a warm tortilla–our mouths are watering just thinking about it.
Old Post Office
The Old Post Office is just 2 miles away from The Franciscan. Serving up classic diner breakfast and lunch in a casual setting, this is the perfect place to stop for a hearty breakfast. The restaurant occupies the old Carnelian Bay post office, and has an eclectic and casual vibe.
What we recommend: Keep it classic at the OPO. Their omelets are delicious, and their First Class Specials do not disappoint. Think perfectly browned hash-browns, warm biscuits, and eggs cooked exactly how you like it.

Fire Sign Cafe
We would be remiss to omit the Fire Sign Cafe from this list. A Tahoe staple since 1978, this casual cafe on the west shore of Lake Tahoe serves breakfast and lunch all day. In the summer, their outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying a delicious breakfast, paired with one of their mimosas that are always made with fresh-squeezed juice.
What we recommend: Try the Fire Sign Crepes–these hearty crepes are filled with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, and cheese, topped with a hollandaise sauce and with a side of home-fries.
