So, you’re spending Memorial Day in North Lake Tahoe? Check out our quick list below to plan your trip.
Memorial Day in North Lake Tahoe is considered the opening day at the lake. It signals the start of summer, and thus, the start of boating season (woot woot!). We offer buoy rentals for just $50/day for lodging guests all summer long. A boat launch next door and an onsite beach and pier make loading and unloading a breeze!
Kayak or paddleboard!
What better way to experience Tahoe than from the water? The Tahoe Adventure Company is located next door to The Franciscan, and offers affordable kayak and paddleboard rentals, as well as weekly tours. Take a paddleboard out to explore the clear waters of Tahoe Vista on your own, or enjoy a guided sunset kayak tour this Memorial Day weekend.
Beach it up!
Yep, summer’s here, y’all! We can’t wait to see those beach chairs out and get some beach reading done. All reservations at The Franciscan include exclusive access to our private beach and pier, perfect for catching some rays this Memorial Day.
The Made in Tahoe Festival will be held May 25-26 at the Squaw Village. This festival is free and open to the public. You’ll find the perfect keepsake from a local artisan, and enjoy performances and live music by Tahoe-based artists.
Tahoe City starts its Sidewalk Saturdays in May. Every Saturday, enjoy sip & shop specials, promotions by local stores, galleries, and artisans, and live music.
Tahoe’s clear skies are perfect for stargazing. Bundle up with some hot cocoa and stargaze on the beach, or head to Skylandia Beach on May 25 for an interactive stargazing tour.
