Concerts on the Beach
Did you know that you can catch music on the shores of Lake Tahoe? Every Friday, head to the Kings Beach State Recreation Area for a free concert and food and drink vendors. Camp out with some food and some wine and enjoy a spectacular sunset and some live music.
Sunday evenings you can also enjoy free lakeside music at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. The concert series features a great lineup, and is also host to some great local food and beverage vendors. The playground is fun for the kids, and the large grassy lawn is perfect for spreading out a picnic blanket and enjoying some tunes.

Truckee Thursdays
Truckee Thursdays are a local’s favorite. Every Thursday evening throughout the summer months, Main Street in downtown Truckee closes to vehicular traffic. Shop for locally crafted goods, food, and art along the main strip. Purchase beer and food in their beer garden and food court. Catch a live performance on the stage. You won’t regret an afternoon spent strolling through downtown Truckee for a Truckee Thursday.

Fireworks

Kings Beach kicks off the celebrations with their free beach party on July 3rd, followed by a fireworks show once the sun goes down. The beach party includes food and drink vendors, beach games, and entertainment. The fireworks are shot off from a barge on Lake Tahoe, making for a wonderful show.
