Short Hikes with Great Views in North Lake Tahoe

So, you’re visiting North Lake Tahoe and you’re looking for a short hike with a great view? Maybe you don’t have time for a longer hike, or maybe you’re just beat after a day in the sun, but you still want that perfect vantage point to catch an incredible Tahoe sunset. Check out a few of our favorite short hikes with big payoffs below. Stateline Fire Lookout Location: Crystal Bay, NV Total Round-Trip Distance: 1 mile This trail is a favorite if you just have a short time before the sun sets. To get there, take Reservoir Road in Crystal Bay (located just east of the Tahoe Biltmore), and park near the forest-service gate.  This short hike is well-marked and easy to find, with a gravel road going all the way to the top. Once at the top, you’ll enjoy an interpretive walking loop, benches and seating areas, and of course, panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. Watch the sun set over Kings Beach at this stunning location. What Can You Do at The North Tahoe Regional Park?

Sometimes, the best playgrounds are the ones found in our backyard. The Tahoe Regional Park is located just one mile from The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge, and offers 124 acres of pure fun. So, what can you do at the North Tahoe Regional Park during your next visit? Here are a few of our favorite things: Zip Through the Trees The Tahoe Treetop Adventure Park operates its Tahoe Vista location out of the North Tahoe Regional Park. Suitable for people of all athletic abilities ages 5+, the Treetop Adventure Park offers 9 courses consisting of 54 obstacle bridges and challenges and 39 ziplines. The courses are made up of challenges connected with ziplines, and are between 10 and 50 feet off of the ground. Each session lasts 2.5 hours, enough time to have plenty of fun in the trees. Reservations are recommended. Go Take a Hike The North Tahoe Regional Park offers miles of trails through the massive Tahoe pines and firs to explore.
