Skiing Lake Tahoe has been named the Spring Skiing Capital, and it’s easy to see why. There is something so quintessentially Californian about skiing down the slopes in a T-shirt, or even just a swimsuit. We’ve all seen those pictures, and you can make it your reality. Driving around Lake Tahoe is a must-do activity while you’re here. We recommend carpooling, and going on non-weekends during non-peak times to avoid congestion, and we recommend spending as much time as you see fit in each of these places. The 72 mile drive around the lake is stunning at all turns. See below for our driving around Lake Tahoe itinerary. Start: The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge Make sure that you make yourself a delicious breakfast in your room (all of our rooms feature fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes). Exit The Franciscan and head west, toward Tahoe City. We all know that Tahoe is known for its skiing in the winter months. But sometimes, you don’t feel like skiing. Maybe the weather isn’t cooperating, or maybe you just aren’t a skier. That’s fine, and we think that everyone should enjoy some of these other Lake Tahoe activities this winter.
