Lake Tahoe is Full-What Does That Mean For You?

We had an absolutely huge winter here by any standards at Lake Tahoe. Many storms were measured in feet, coating the roads, mountains, and beaches with more snow than we knew what to do with. But now that winter is over, we are dealing with all of that snow melt. We are here to ponder the question-how does that affect recreation on the lake? Well, for one, since Lake Tahoe is much more full than it has been in quite some time, the beaches are smaller. When planning a beach day, perhaps leave the huge volleyball net at home (depending on where you are headed) and plan to stake out a spot early. When you visit The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge in Tahoe Vista, we make it easy-our private beach and pier mean that you’ll never compete for space. The rising water level is great news for boaters. Many of the boat launches and piers, The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge’s pier included, were inaccessible by boat  the last couple of years due to low water levels. Our pier is now easily accessible by boat. This makes it easy to drop off and pick up cargo and companions. The boat launch next door […]

Spring in Lake Tahoe is beautiful. Although the first couple of days may be rough, we love when Daylight Savings rolls around. Although we woke up an hour earlier today, the sunrise was gorgeous to watch. Nothing beats the feeling of being the only person on a beach or pier, watching the sun come up over the mountains in the east, flooding the lake with sunlight. Franciscan’s Lakeside Lodge is located location on its own private beach which makes it the perfect North Lake Tahoe hotel to come to enjoy the changing seasons. Spring in Lake Tahoe also means that we get an extra hour in the evening. Tahoe gets an average of around 300 sunny days per year, making it the perfect place to enjoy the longer days that spring brings. Hang out on the pier or on your own private deck at Franciscan Lodge to soak up the sunshine. For more adventurous types, rent a paddle board or kayak to enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tahoe.
