The Latest notice about COVD19 from Placer County

Updated: April 11th To All Guests: The Franciscan Lakeside Lodge is taking every effort to ensure the safety of our guests and employees during this time. On Thursday March 19th, California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered California’s 40 million residents to stay at home, restricting non-essential movements to control the spread of the coronavirus that threatens to overwhelm the state’s medical system. Placer County has also issued an updated directive for residents to remain at home except to engage in “essential activities” effective 12:01am March 20th in response to the local spread of COVID-19 through May 1. The Franciscan will continue to accommodate our current guests and homeowners while continuing to serve a need in the local community. We greatly appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you in the future. Lake Tahoe Free Summer Events

You can’t beat free. Tahoe is home to some great summer events, check out some of our favorite Lake Tahoe free summer events here. Concerts on the Beach Did you know that you can catch music on the shores of Lake Tahoe? Every Friday, head to the Kings Beach State Recreation Area for a free concert and food and drink vendors. Camp out with some food and some wine and enjoy a spectacular sunset and some live music. Sunday evenings you can also enjoy free lakeside music at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. The concert series features a great lineup, and is also host to some great local food and beverage vendors. The playground is fun for the kids, and the large grassy lawn is perfect for spreading out a picnic blanket and enjoying some tunes. Truckee Thursdays Truckee Thursdays are a local’s favorite. Every Thursday evening throughout the summer months, Main Street in downtown Truckee closes to vehicular traffic. Shop for locally crafted goods, food, and art along the main strip. Snowfest 2019

What are you planning from the 28th of February until March 10? Because we have a full schedule of activities for you! Have fun at the annual Snowfest organized by the North Tahoe Community since the spring of 1981.  Snowfest starts with a party at Garwood’s Grill & Pier on the Thursday, grab something to eat and drink while the queen coronation is being made. Then on Friday get ready for more food and drinks, relax with some live music and watch the fireworks at Commons Beach. And on Saturday get ready for the annual Tahoe City parade; a mardi gras-themed, family-friendly event that features local organizations with floats, bands, beads, and more! And for this year our Grand Marshal its: the Uni-Cycling Unicorn! And so it goes… eleven days of full and different activities to have fun around the North Tahoe Lake.
